MUSICAL MARCH AT THE OLD COLONY HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Louis Armstrong:  An American Icon Audio presentation by Norman Dunphe
Free and open to the public; refreshments to follow
The Old Colony Historial Society at 66 Church Green in Taunton will take a journey to the not-so distant past through the music of one of our country's greatest jazz musicians, Louis Armstrong.  Radio and music expert Norman Dunphe will be our tour guide to the life of Satchmo, his visits to Taunton, and best of all, his music.  A cornet and trumpet virtuoso, Armstrong was also revered fro his recognizable style of scat singing.  Learn more about this cultural icon or relive the great times at Roseland Ballroom through Mr. Dunphe's program.

The mission of the OCHS is to collect, care for and interpret the history of the Taunton region, collaborating with the community to share meaningful connections between the past, the present and the future.  To that end, we have a museum and library that are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 to 4:00, except for closings on holidays and Saturdays before Monday holidays.  Admission for non-members during normal hours of operation is $7 for genealogy, $4 for adults, $2 for seniors and children 12-17, free for OCHS members and accompanied children under the age of 12.

Admission for this program is free to all and prior registration is not required.
